Pray and Fasting

Matthew 17:21 KJV Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by pray and fasting.

What are you facing today in your body; whatever it may be, some issues can only be dealt with through Prayer and fasting! Prayer alone sometimes is just not enough to get the desired results we need in our lives, but when we add fasting, it adds power to our prayers to get the effective results needed to bring about our healing and deliverance in our lives!

What is prayer? It is a petition with rights for being a citizen of the kingdom of heaven

1 Thessalonians 5:17 (KJV)tells us to; Pray without ceasing

Luke 18:1 (Amplified); Also Jesus told them a parable to the effect that they ought to always pray and not to turn coward( faint, lose heart, and give up).

Prayer is a necessity, and not an option! When you don’t pray you are in disobedience to the word of God (Matthew 6:5-7). In the beginning of each verse it says, “when you pray,” God is expecting us to pray, therefore prayer is the most important and powerful thing we can do in our lives and for our well-being. What is fasting and the benefits from fasting?

Fasting takes your body and puts its back in line with your spirit to gain a greater knowledge of HIM.

: It is a willful choice of ones own self to abstain from food and or a natural pleasures for a spiritual purpose.

Three types of fast:

1.) Absolute: meaning nothing to eat nor drink

2.) Partial: Picking a specific time of the day to fast from, for instance 7:00am to 4:00pm, nothing to eat during that time only water or juice

3.) Total: just water

You should fast at least once a week or be led by the Holy Spirit (A cleansing process from beginning to end).

: Fasting is to change us, not God, and to free us from bondage. The effects of fasting are life-giving and life-changing, it helps to establish self control, relieving stress, tension and anxiety. It slows down the aging process, helps the healing of our bodies, curving and eventually eliminating cravings and bad habits.

: Fasting increases our spiritual capacity (understanding of God word).

: Fasting quiets our Heart to hear from God clearly.

:Fasting brings Godly intimacy ( letting God know He is Number ONE).

Things to do before, during and after a fast.

Fasting should only be seen by God.

Matthew 6:17-18 NKJV But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, V18: so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your father who is in the secret place, and your father who sees in the secret will reward you openly. Fasting demands dedicated time to pray and meditate on the word of God and being constantly in his presence ( not doing business as usual; no excessive talking or joking around, get yourself in position to hear from God on your situation).

: Control your food intake when coming off a fast (Break each fast with raw fruits or vegetables).

I pray that this information has been a blessing to you, to know that prayer is powerful, but added with fasting makes it an even more dynamic force, so that hell can’t prevail and takes your life to another level in Him!

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
